EMPATIA@Lecco Project

EMpowerment del PAzienTe In casA

The EMPATIA@Lecco Project is the third chapter of a targeted action on neuromuscular rehabilitation in the Lecco area. The project includes technological innovation actions aimed at patients’ empowerment with the development of innovative device prototypes and new methods of assessment, co-designed together by technological and clinical partners. The main focus is on advanced orthotics and prosthetics, aids, robotics, virtual and augmented reality, multifunctional materials and biomaterials, electronic and sensor systems, control and communication systems and FabLabs for the production of personalised devices.

InnoWEE

InnoWEE Project

Innovative pre-fabricated components including different Waste construction materials reducing building Energy and minimising Environmental impacts

InnoWEE will focus on the development and field tests of new high performance prefabricated geopolymeric panels made with a large content of recycled construction and demolition waste (CDW). The basic idea is to embed fragmented waste bricks, plaster or concrete, glasses, wood from pallets etc. in a geopolymer matrix to produce high added value prefabricated insulating and radiating panels to be used in energy efficient buildings.

Project funding: This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 723916 , Work Programme topics addressed: EeB-04-2016

MODULA Project

Luminescence modulation in ferroelectric materials driven by external physical stimuli

The modulation of luminescence emission through external fields and stimuli has a significant application potential for light sources with variable colour and intensity as well as optical memories, switches and sensors. The main goal of the project is the fabrication of ferroelectric materials whose photoluminescence emission can be modulated in intensity, colour, etc. by the application of external physical stimuli, such as an electric field or a temperature variation. Moreover, the project aims at clarifying the fundamental mechanism behind the modulation process.
