Marco Musiani ha lavorato per il CNR in qualità di ricercatore dal 1981, primo ricercatore dal 1995 e dirigente di ricerca dal 2001, coordinando il gruppo “Elettrochimica dei materiali in film sottile”. Il 30 settembre 2020 è stato collocato a riposo per raggiunti limiti di età. Dall’1 ottobre 2020 è associato all’ICMATE con incarico di collaborazione a progetti dell’Istituto. È Honorary Member dell’International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) di cui è stato Segretario Esecutivo nel periodo 2004-2018. Ha coordinato l’organizzazione dell’Annual Meeting 2018 dell’ISE (Bologna, 2-7 settembre 2018) a cui hanno partecipato oltre 2000 elettrochimici. È stato presidente della Divisione di Elettrochimica della Società Chimica Italiana nel triennio 2014-2016. È stato direttore facente funzione dell’ICMATE da aprile a settembre 2018. Ha studiato e studia vari aspetti dell’elettrochimica dei materiali, inclusi elettropolimerizzazione, rivestimenti anti-corrosione, inibitori di corrosione, passività, elettrodeposizione, polimeri conduttori, elettrocatalisi ed impedenza elettrochimica. Ha pubblicato circa 200 articoli scientifici in riviste peer-reviewed.
Marco Musiani has worked for the Italian National Research Council (CNR) as researcher since 1981, senior researcher since 1995 and research director since 2001, coordinating the research group “Electrochemistry of thin film materials”. He has retired on September 30th 2020 and is now a research associate of ICMATE. He is Honorary Member of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), after being the Executive Secretary of the Society from 2004 to 2018. He has coordinated the organization of the 69th ISE Annual Meeting (Bologna, Italy, 2-7 September 2018) attended by over 2000 electrochemists. He has been Chair of the Electrochemistry Division of the Italian Chemical Society from 2014 to 2016. He has been interim director of ICMATE CNR from April to September 2018. He has studied and studies various aspects of the electrochemistry of thin film materials, including electropolymerization, anti-corrosion coatings, corrosion inhibitors, passivity, electrochemical deposition, conducting polymers, electrocatalysis and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. He has published about 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
